St. Patrick’s Day Parade

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day later this week (Friday March 17, 2017), I wanted to share a YouTube video my parents found.

This is from 2009; Jen is twirling with the incredible Silver Starlites.

Let’s Honor Jen’s Memory

August 17th; you have visited us once again.

Can you even believe that it  has been 6 years? I can’t. I live in a perpetual state of Jen’s passing feeling like it was decades ago, or last week. Memories of that whole week are intensely clear, or ever-so slightly foggy. And it’s not just me; other people I’ve talked to feel the same way. Grief must have it’s own clock.

No Christmas Cards This Year

Every year, right around Thanksgiving, I start prepping to send out my Holiday cards. I find my spread sheet from the year before, and update it to reflect new friends I want to mail a card to, people I’ve lost touch with, and spend days confirming  everyone’s correct mailing address. Lastly, I start the all-important task of finding the perfect card to mail out.

There’s an angel watching over you

There are some truly amazing people in the world.

Yesterday, one of our long time twirling friends asked me to stop by her job, because she had something for me. I got to her job later in the evening, and she handed me an envelope. Not having any idea what it could be, I opened it.

Sibling Survivor Guilt

I was trolling the interweb looking for possible new topics to blog about, and I cam across this article called, “Sibling Survivor Guilt: What It Is, How It Works,” by Bob Baugher, Ph.D, and thought it was an important read (and even more important to share).

Mr. Baugher lists the common types of sibling grief, and I’ve added my 2 cents:

My Sister, My Sister, My Sister

Recently, I have found myself talking more about Jen. I have been talking about her mostly when conversing with friends or coworkers, and saying things like, “My sister did this,” or, “One time, my sister Niff said that.” I never follow-up with anything about her passing, because it’s really none of their business.

Happy Mother’s Day (And a Bunch of Other Stuff)

Every so often I get caught up with what is going on, that I don’t have time to add a new post (or two) to Coniffdence. For that, I am sorry, but sadly, life happens and I don’t have all the time, tools, or energy to write.

However, on this beautiful Mother’s Day, I am committing myself to writing not only today, but I am going to try to do more during the week.
