Mother’s Day 2012

While many of you may have been celebrating Mother’s Day with a fancy brunch, I celebrated Mother’s Day in my garage and along side Rt. 9D in Cold Spring.

Saturday night, my Mom and Dad went to Cold Spring, and brought home the beautiful white cross that Jen’s friends made for her and put along the side of the road at the scene of her accident. The cross was leading pretty bad, and the wood was starting to fall apart in spots. My parents brought it home, and picked up supplies to reinforce the wood, so that it would keep its shape. Saturday night, I carefully went over all the writing to make sure the:

was bold and no longer fading away.

Jen’s Cross

I am currently sitting on the 10:50am train to Croton Harmon and was just looking out the window. I knew we were approaching Cold Spring but I didn’t think I would be able to see Jen’s cross from the train. I knew it was hers. There was the huge cross and the white metal one.

Now I’m trying not to cry. I wasn’t ready to see it.

Miss you Jen.

There’s an angel watching over you

There are some truly amazing people in the world.

Yesterday, one of our long time twirling friends asked me to stop by her job, because she had something for me. I got to her job later in the evening, and she handed me an envelope. Not having any idea what it could be, I opened it.

Palm Rose & Cross

I feel very guilty that I have not blogged in a while. It has been a very busy past week or so, and I just have not had time to gather my thoughts. However, I’m back, and have lots of good stories to share.

Mom and Dad just got home from a week long vacation in San Diego, California. They stayed at this amazing hotel, and did lots of shopping at the cute little stores and boutiques along the beaches.

Thank You

Well, we made it through the one year mark. It was a rough day, but that was to be expected. However, I don’t think it would have been possible without the help and support from our friends and family, and for that, I want to say, “Thank you.”

“Appropriately, the Sunflower Droops Down Over Jen’s Cross”

This morning, my Dad dug up one of my sunflowers and put the roots in a bucket, and made sure the whole stalk stayed up.  I helped him put the bucket and 7’+ sunflower in his car, and then I left for work.

The results?
